Children never cease to amaze us. In one of those unimportant conversations that you have when leaving school with your son, I asked one of my daughters:

Their brain grows at such a dizzying rate that they barely have time to assimilate certain concepts and, of course, they release them in any situation, hence they arise curious reflections that many times make ours stagger due to their creativity, occurrence and even logic.

Children have a different way of processing information, which is nothing like that of adults. We explain the curious way children reason.

Not all children evolve at the same time, the maturity of their reasoning depends on many factors, but they do all follow the same same reasoning process.

exist 4 stages differentiated of reasoning according to the age of the child:

1- The first stage occurs between birth and two years, and in it the senses have special relevance. Through hearing, taste, touch, smell and sight, the baby begins to interact. Begin to develop your reflexes in the face of the most primary stimuli, and to see the need to interact with adults in order to get what they want, that's how the first begin logical reasoning, which have more to do with the space it occupies, the cause and effect reaction, for example: "if I cry, they feed me", and their first words.

2- From 2 to 7 years old. It is the time of and why ...? The boy tries collect all the information possible about what is around him, he asks thousands of questions, begins to have a slight sense of time and space, and begins to elaborate his first thoughts. It is during this stage when such spontaneous and fun thoughts arise, since the child receives information but still does not know how to process it properly.

In this period he is not capable of making many reflections, he is not interested in logical answers because he does not understand them in their entirety, he only looks for simple statements about his surroundings.

During these years verbal and numerical reasoning develops and therefore we must encourage it as much as possible.

3- From 7 to 11 years old the first logical reasonings emerge. Now he knows how to better handle the information collected during his early years, and is replacing fantasy with logical operations. It is curious that during these years the child is not able to distinguish the intermediate points, nor the nuances, but rather everything is black or white.

4- 11 to 12 years logical and abstract reasoning begins. They are able to think outside of their time and space, they begin to analyze, synthesize and apply rules. It is the time for the most complex mathematics and reflect especially what they have learned so far. Hold on! also begins his most demanding and rebellious stage, as they begin to question everything you have instilled in them so far.
